I have finally taken on updating my website. With the awakening of spring, it has been difficult to sit
at a desk and work on something that is really very difficult for me. I have also discovered some
wonderful new things in my life that are capturing my attention and free time. All of my instructors
have such wonderful websites that I figure folks can go there to find what they need. I knew that I
had all the vital links available. So forgive me and if you are reading this sometime this fall and find
something that I have out of date please be understanding.
Maybe you are wondering what has captured my attention lately and maybe not. However, I will take
this opportunity to share my love and gratitude for these new discoveries.
The first writer is not new to me. Her name is Marianne Williamson and she has been an inspiration
to me through many changes in my life. You may know her from her literature on A Course in
Miracles. She has written many beautiful books that have helped me pray my way through difficult
times. Her newest book is one on weight loss, A Course in Weight Loss. I hope to do a book club
with this book and would love to do it at the center. It would need to be in a series of meetings. If
anyone is interested in leading this please shoot me an email jlovoy@townandmountain.com.
My other new favorite person is actually a fitness instructor, Paticia Moreno. Her work is called
IntenSati and has been very fun and motivating to me. What I love about her is her background in
Anusara yoga. She has studied under John Friend. She uses the principles of good alignment in
combination with cardio and yoga type movements as she guides you through speaking affirmations
of power and strength. I really enjoy her practice and the heat it builds as well as the good head talk
she combines with the movement. It is really fun!! My goal is to find a person to train and teach that
here in Asheville. In the meantime I am just using her videos and her podcasts. She also has a book
that could be done as a bookclub type series which I have been reading. Dream on Joy!!
Gayle has joined forces with Keri Evjy to do another exciting workshop. This time it is a one day
workshop on Exploring Yoga and Herbs. The Eat, Breathe, Move was very successful and I hope
that Gayle will coordinate another sometime in the future. All of our guest speakers were gifted and
most are right here in Asheville. It is amazing to me the gifts we have here in our sweet home town.
If you are interested in this upcoming workshop on Saturday, June 11th contact Gayle Jann at
gayle@yogaatyourplace.net.
A Breema® Workshop is being offered the weekend of June 25th. Breema® is a simple, natural
form of touch and body movement supported by universal principles. Please study their website to
find out more about this fascinating therapy www.breema.com.
We are happy to have our ongoing yoga most evenings. We have a noon yoga class on
Wednesday and a morning yoga class on Thursdays. There is a contact dancing group that meets
most Saturday afternoons. Ann & Robert Gryczan offer a study group on Tuesday evenings in
Nierika Sol. Study the schedule and see if you would like to join any of our classes. Remember this
is a rental space and all instructors work independently. I am happy to help you get in touch with
them. On that note we are excited to welcome Kaoverii who will teach her Subtle Yoga Trainings
starting in September and Joe Taft and Deidre Smith Gilmer will begin a new Anusara Immersion
series July 15th.
The daytime schedule will be changing this summer. We hope to have some kids things happening
and I really have an intention of getting some cross training started. We had a guest Zumba
instructor and were able to have 20 folks visit from the YMCA class while they were refinishing the
floors at the y. That was an absolute blast and created some amazing heat. Thanks Samantha Bird
for bringing that energy over.
The offices would be suitable for conferencing, art, therapy or tutoring. Our space has proven to be
very successful for movement classes with as many as 30 people. We have weekend time slots
available for you to teach a class or use the space for other fun events. We are open to ideas and
can assist you in many ways in your event planning. The space will be available for use before,
during and after business hours.
My husband Mike Miller and I continue to enjoy supporting our agents at Town and Mountain
Realty . We would appreciate any referrals to our company. We have 40 wonderful agents and we
can find you one that will be able to serve you well with any of your real estate needs!!
While I am at it I would also like to put in a plug for our rental at Lake Lure. Check it out at
www.lakelurecondo.com . If you mention getting information from the training center website I will
give you a screaming deal for a great close to Asheville getaway.
If you are interested in our space or you would like to get our newsletters contact me at
jlovoy@townandmountain.com.
Fondly,
Joy Lovoy
